To kick off this week, our students had the privilege of speaking with Kirsten Fox, Terry's eldest niece who shared her Uncle's inspiring story and the impact the Terry Fox Foundation has had across Canada for decades. We are ready for another year of doing our part in raising awareness and supporting cancer research alongside other schools across Canada!
Uplands Terry Fox Walk will be held on September 29th @ 2:25pm (Period 10) and we welcome parents and families to join us for our event!

This morning we held our first Lockdown Drill alongside our RCMP partners at 9:30am. Safety procedures are incredibly important in the event of a real emergency and all our students did very well at following the procedures that keep everyone safe.

A change of plans this week given the forecast ahead. This afternoon (instead of tomorrow) students will participate in the Recess Games event! This is a great opportunity for students to learn the rules of popular recess games around Uplands including Gaga Ball, 4 Square, Soccer, and many other simple games the students enjoy. A big shout out to Mrs. Balaski for organizing our event filled afternoon, thank you!

📚 Pre-K & Kindergarten classes begin the week of September 8 across Grasslands Public Schools.
👋 Orientation takes place the week of August 31, and teachers will be reaching out to families with details.
A few reminders for families:
*Pre-K families: If you haven’t completed your registration package, please check your email. Families who have previously inquired about Pre-K can also expect a phone call this week.
*Kindergarten families: There’s still time to register your child online.
*School supply and calendar information can be found on your school website, with additional Pre-K information available at orientation.

Grasslands Public Schools will be conducting a Herbicide Program to control weeds on School Grounds and other School Division properties. The program will commence on May 22 and run until May 24, pending weather.
All herbicide applications will be in strict accordance with all regulations established by Alberta Environment, and rates will be at Federally approved label recommendations.
Herbicide warning signs will be placed on all treated Division Property. Please stay off treated areas until signs are removed.
